Privacy Policy
Tacanni is a one-person consulting practice run by Evan Hopkins. This page describes what this website collects, why it collects it, who else sees it, and how to make it stop. It is written against what the site actually does rather than what a template says a website might do.
Who is responsible
Evan Hopkins, trading as Tacanni, is the data controller for information collected through this website. For anything in this policy — including a request to see, correct, or delete your data — email evan@tacanni.com.
What is collected, and when
When you fill in the contact form
The form asks for your name and email, and optionally your phone number, company, and a message. Submissions are delivered by FormSubmit, a third-party form relay, to Evan's inbox. They are used to reply to you and to decide whether an engagement makes sense.
When you unlock the Read the Room diagnostic
The tool asks for your name and work email before it returns a result. Those are sent to Tacanni's own server, which issues you an access token, emails the details to Evan, and posts a notification to a private Slack channel. If you complete the diagnostic, the personality style it produced is included in that Slack notification. Your individual answers are not stored after the result is generated.
When you use the chat assistant
The assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude. What you type is sent to Tacanni's server and on to Anthropic to generate a reply. If a conversation goes far enough to look like a genuine enquiry, a summary and the full transcript are emailed to Evan and posted to a private Slack channel. Treat the chat as a conversation with Evan, because that is what it becomes. Do not put anything confidential into it.
When you use the Revenue Self-Audit or the ROI calculator
These run entirely in your browser. Your answers and the figures you enter are never transmitted to Tacanni or to anyone else. If you choose to click through to book a call from the results, the link carries your two summary band scores (for the audit) or your modelled inputs (for the calculator) so the conversation can start from real numbers — nothing else travels with it.
When you simply browse
The site is served through Cloudflare and hosted on Render, both of which keep standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and reliability. The analytics described below also run on ordinary page views.
Analytics and advertising technologies
These are the third-party technologies the site loads, what each one does, and what it receives:
Google Analytics 4
Measures traffic and on-site behaviour — pages viewed, how far down a page you read, which buttons are clicked, and whether a form or tool was used. It sets cookies and assigns a random identifier to your browser. Tacanni deliberately does not send names, email addresses, message contents, chat transcripts, or diagnostic answers to Google Analytics. Some conversion events are also sent to Google from Tacanni's server rather than from your browser, so that they are counted even when a browser blocks the tag; those carry the same random identifier and no personal details.
Microsoft Clarity
Records how pages are used — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling — and can replay an anonymised session, which is used to find broken or confusing parts of the site. Clarity masks text input by default, so what you type into forms is not captured in a replay.
LinkedIn Insight Tag
An advertising technology from LinkedIn. It records that a visit happened and allows Tacanni to build audiences for LinkedIn advertising and to measure ad performance. If you have a LinkedIn account, LinkedIn may be able to associate the visit with it. This is the one technology on the site that exists for advertising rather than for making the site work or measuring it.
Cookies and your choices
The site uses cookies and similar browser storage for the analytics and advertising technologies above. None of them are required for the site to function — you can block or delete them in your browser settings, or use an ad or tracker blocker, and every page will still work exactly as it does now.
If you are in the UK or EU, none of them load until you allow it. Everyone can change that decision at any time:
Google Analytics can be blocked specifically with Google's opt-out browser add-on. Microsoft Clarity honours the same tracker-blocking mechanisms. LinkedIn advertising settings are controlled from your LinkedIn account.
Booking, payments, and links out
Calls are booked through Reclaim.ai, and deposits are taken through Stripe. Both are separate services with their own privacy policies, and anything you enter there is handled by them. Tacanni never sees or stores your card details.
Affiliate links. Some outbound links on the Tools page — including to Apollo, Reclaim, and HubSpot — are affiliate or referral links, which means Tacanni may earn a commission or credit if you sign up. That does not change what you pay, and no tool is recommended for that reason. Clicking such a link passes a referral identifier to the destination.
How long things are kept
Enquiry emails and chat summaries stay in Evan's inbox and Slack until they are no longer useful, which for a consulting practice usually means a few years. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months. Access tokens for the gated tool expire after 90 days. If you ask for your information to be deleted, it is deleted.
Where your information goes
Tacanni operates from the United States, and the services above — Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Anthropic, Slack, Render, Cloudflare, FormSubmit, Stripe, Reclaim — process data in the United States and elsewhere. If you are in the UK, EU, or another region with data transfer rules, your information will be transferred outside it.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU (UK GDPR / GDPR). You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, take it elsewhere in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time. Where Tacanni relies on legitimate interests — running and securing the site, replying to enquiries, understanding how the site is used — you can object, and Tacanni will stop unless there is a compelling reason not to. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner's Office.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected and why, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Tacanni does not sell your personal information and never has. Use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag for advertising audiences may count as "sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising" under California law; you can opt out by blocking the tag as described above, or by emailing Evan and asking.
To exercise any of these rights, email evan@tacanni.com. There is no form and no process to navigate — it is a small practice, and Evan reads his own mail. Expect a reply within 30 days.
Legal bases for processing (UK/EU)
- Consent — analytics and advertising technologies, and the occasional email if you opted in when unlocking a tool.
- Legitimate interests — replying to your enquiry, keeping the site running and secure, and keeping a record of conversations with prospective clients.
- Contract — anything necessary to deliver an engagement you have actually signed up for.
Children
This site sells executive consulting to businesses. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
